Nicholas Philips

Nicholas was born in 1959 at Columbus Georgia. He attended Maryville College in St. Louis and graduated in 1983 with a degree in Nursing. After working as a trauma nurse for more then twenty years, Nicholas was due for a change. He started to explore his creative side, learning to draw, writing and black and white photography. After doing some work as a freelance photographer, Nicholas took his first lessons in glass blowing in 2005.

He had always had an interest in glass and after his first lessons Nicholas knew he had found his life’s passion. In less than one year after his first lesson Nicholas found an apprenticeship at Clarksville Glassworks and moved from Tampa Florida to Clarksville Missouri. In less than six months working as an artist Nicholas has had his own artwork and artworks that he has collaborated on displayed in art galleries around St. Louis. Nicholas continues to work at Clarksville glassworks to increase his knowledge and skills of working with glass.
